CLUSTERING KONDISI LABORATORIUM BERDASARKAN PENILAIAN MAHASISWA DENGAN METODE WARD DI JURUSAN TEKNIK INDUSTRI UPN “VETERAN” JAWA TIMUR

Penelitian ini dibuat berdasarkan permasalahan yang ada di Jurusan Teknik Industri UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur, yaitu mengenai kondisi laboratorium berdasarkan beberapa pendapat dari mahasiswa. Mereka yang telah melaksanakan praktikum berpendapat bahwa fasilitas dan kondisi ruangan masih belum maksimal. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut maka dibuatlah penelitian ini dengan menggunakan analisa cluster dengan metode Ward. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan kelompok-kelompok praktikum di jurusan Teknik Industri,mengetahui karakteristik dari setiap cluster yang terbentuk, dan membuat usulan perbaikan untuk kelompok yang memiliki nilai tidak baik. Data dari penelitian ini diambil dari hasil penyebaran kuesioner sebanyak 60 buah kuesioner. Dan objek dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh praktikum di jurusan Teknik Industri. Variabel-variabel yang digunakan terbagi menjadi 7 variabel bebas, antara lain kedisiplinan, materi praktikum, cara mengajar, waktu bimbingan, kondisi laboratorium, suasana laboratorium, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Ketujuh variabel tersebut kemudian dijabarkan menjadi 12 atribut pertanyaan. Sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah kondisi laboratorium yang masih kurang maksimal dan perlu dilakukan perbaikan agar lebih optimal. Dari hasil pengolahan data, kesepuluh praktikum terbagi menjadi 3 cluster. Cluster pertama terdiri dari 4 praktikum, cluster kedua terdiri dari 4 praktikum juga. Dan cluster ketiga terdiri dari 2 praktikum. Dan setelah dilakukan karakteristik untuk masing-masing cluster, ternyata cluster 3 lah yang justru harus dilakukan banyak perbaikan. Karena dari hasil pendapat mahasiswa yang telah menjadi responden, praktikum-praktikum yang masuk dalam cluster 3 nilainya masih kurang baik.

Abstract
This study is based on the existing problems in the Industrial Engineering Department UPN "Veteran" East Java, which is based on laboratory conditions some opinions from students. Those who have carried out the lab found the facility and the condition of the room was not maximized. Based on these problems then be made to this study by using a cluster analysis with Ward's method. The purpose of this study was to determine the groups in Industrial Engineering lab, know the characteristics of each cluster is formed, and make suggestions for improvements that the group has no value either. Data from this study were drawn from the results of the questionnaire were 60 pieces of questionnaires. And the object of this research is the whole lab in the department of Industrial Engineering. The variables used are divided into seven independent variables, such as discipline, lab materials, teaching methods, time guidance, laboratory conditions, the atmosphere of the laboratory, and evaluation of learning. The seven variables are then translated into 12 attributes question. While the dependent variable is the laboratory conditions is still less than the maximum and needs to be improved to be more optimal. From the data processing, the tenth practicum is divided into 3 clusters. The first cluster consists of 4 lab, the second cluster consists of 4 lab as well. And the third cluster consists of two practicum. And after the characteristics of each cluster, cluster 3 turns out the ones who have to do a lot of repairs. Because of the results of the opinion that the student has become the respondents, lab-lab included in cluster 3 is still not good value.
