Manuscript Types
Jurnal Teknologi Pangan (JTP) publishes scholarly articles that contribute to the advancement of food science and technology.
The journal welcomes manuscripts addressing food processing, food chemistry, food microbiology, food safety, food biotechnology, food engineering, food quality, sensory evaluation, food product development, and related areas.
JTP accepts the following types of manuscripts.
1. Original Research Articles
Original Research Articles present new findings based on systematic scientific investigation.
These manuscripts should demonstrate scientific originality, methodological rigour, appropriate data analysis, and a meaningful contribution to food science and technology.
Original Research Articles should generally contain:
-
Title and abstract
-
Keywords
-
Introduction
-
Materials and Methods
-
Results and Discussion
-
Conclusion
-
Acknowledgements, funding and relevant declarations
-
References
For experimental studies, authors should describe the experimental design, sample preparation, analytical methods, number of replications, and statistical procedures in sufficient detail to support scientific evaluation and reproducibility.
Research involving food sensory evaluation, microbiological analysis, or other specialised methods should report the relevant ethical, analytical, and quality assurance considerations.
2. Review Articles
Review Articles provide critical and comprehensive analyses of existing scientific literature on specific topics within the journal's scope.
A review should do more than summarise previous publications. It should critically evaluate evidence, identify research gaps, examine methodological limitations, and present directions for future research.
Review Articles should generally include:
-
Introduction and background
-
Scope and approach to literature selection
-
Thematic or systematic discussion
-
Critical evaluation of existing evidence
-
Research gaps and future perspectives
-
Conclusions
-
References
For systematic reviews, authors should explain their search strategies, eligibility criteria, and methods of study selection and synthesis.
3. Short Communications
Short Communications report concise, original scientific findings that have sufficient novelty and significance to justify rapid and focused scholarly communication.
This category is appropriate for preliminary but scientifically substantiated discoveries, novel experimental observations, or limited-scope investigations that provide meaningful contributions to the field.
Short Communications should contain sufficient methodological detail and supporting evidence to enable assessment of the reliability of the findings.
They should not be used to publish incomplete studies or divide a substantial research project into unnecessarily fragmented publications.
4. General Submission Requirements
All submitted manuscripts must:
-
Be relevant to the journal's aims and scope.
-
Present original scholarly content and comply with publication ethics.
-
Not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
-
Follow the journal's manuscript template and author guidelines.
-
Include accurate references and appropriate disclosure statements.
-
Provide sufficient information for scientific assessment.
All manuscript types are subject to editorial screening and appropriate peer review.
The Editor in Chief reserves the right to reject manuscripts that fall outside the journal's scope or do not meet its scholarly and ethical standards.
Important: Authors should consult the journal's current Author Guidelines and manuscript template for detailed formatting requirements.
